B.Y.O.M. A Lindy Hop Social and Listening Party, hosted by Loo Zihan

This class is part of The School of Uncommon Knowledge

This class will be an open social dance floor for Lindy Hoppers where each participant will bring a Lindy Hop song and share a memory associated with the song. From there, the class will develop into a conversation about recent developments within the international Lindy Hop community (https://sports.vice.com/en_us/article/how-swing-dancing-faced-its-sexual-assault-scandal) and their potential impact on the Singaporean Lindy Hop scene.

Non-Lindy Hoppers are welcome to observe the conversation and the social dance.

About Loo Zihan

Zihan is a performance and visual artist based in Singapore who has been dancing the Lindy Hop for the past decade. He has attended various international Lindy Hop camps, and presented a Lindy Hop lecture performance ‘50/50’ at Theatreworks Singapore (2015) and at the Brisbane Festival (2016) devised in collaboration with Jereh Leong, Sinclair Ang and Joanna Dong. He was drawn to the Lindy Hop for its promise of happiness, and stayed on in the community because of the connections he has forged with fellow dancers.
