Two Porcelain Plates, The Last Supper, and Their Chairs

"When a table does not function as a table, what could it be?
In Two Porcelain Plates, The Last Supper, and Their Chairs, material and movement intermingle to displace the audience’s environment. Approached in its absolute, pristine form, the work is momentarily manifested as a tangible presence. Certainty of form breaks into illusion as the smooth, glass-like surface eventually reveals its dysfunction –materials visually resembling solid structures are in truth, ever weightless, ever formless. Proposing a refreshing estrangement from familiar furniture forms, the work continually defies the extent of understanding and receptivity towards perceived realities."
